Tanzania

Since 1992, children and teachers in Nykvarn have been fighting to give the next generation children, in the village Kyamuliale, Tanzania a tolerable life.

In Kyamuliale they are supporting the development of the education, with both low-, middle- and lower secondary.

The village is located in a barren landscape west of Lake Victoria. Besides money for the extension and renovation, equipment and books have been given to the school.

Tolvskillingshjälpen have decided to participate in the development of this school for a longer period of time by contributing to help for the construction of the school.

Another project in Tanzania is Ashira Primary school located in comune of Marangu. The school was founded in 1933 by German missionaries.

The school has 230 children. 9 teachers (8 female and one male) and two cooks and one janitor. The municipality pays teachers and books for children. Parents pay the food, cooks, porters, uniforms for their children, and notebooks. The school has four buildings - a dining hall, seven classrooms and two teachers' offices. Subjects taught in school is English, Swahili, geography, history, politics, mathematics, social knowledge and religion. Instruction begins 7:30 in the morning and ends at 16:30 after dinner. The children receive lunch at school.
Tolvskillingshjälpen has helped to build a computer room.
